The Berry Pomeroy Estate is centred on the village of Berry Pomeroy, near Totnes, located in the South Hams of South Devon, between Dartmoor and the Sea, lying within the South Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).
Berry Pomeroy Castle is a romantic medieval ruin of architectural importance, managed by English Heritage and open from Easter to the end of October. It was built in the 13th and 14th Centuries by the Pomeroy family and has been owned since 1547 by the Seymours, who added large wings and courtyards to the structure, using Italian and French craftsmen. The adjacent Berry Pomeroy Castle Café provides refreshments for the visitor including light lunches, Devon Cream Teas, ice creams, etc., and can be pre-booked for private parties. Their Sunday Roast Lunches in Winter are popular, as are the woodland walks from the Castle car park.
The Castle makes a fantastic setting for film and photographic shooting, as does some of the lovely countryside and older buildings on the Estate.
The Estate comprises residential, office, and commercial property to rent, as well as let farms and land, together with woodlands.
Please see the Properties to Let page for details of residential and commercial property to rent, which is up-dated regularly. Here you can also download the application form if you are interested in joining our waiting list for suitable rental property, when they become available.
